I want to be able to see my cell comments only if I click the cell or the comment triangle. Instead the many comments I have pop up when I move the mouse across the page - very annoying
Can I get this option?

You can hide comments by going in the menu to View > Comments > Hide Comments.
To turn them back on again just go to the same place in the menu.
If you want some other behavior then you can consider submitting a request to Apple via Numbers > Provide Numbers Feedback in your menu. I understand comments/requests are considered and prioritized, but don't expect a reply.
