I just got a new Apple Watch and I’m trying to pair it with my iPhone but a message pops up that says “phone out of date, the Apple Watch requires a new version of iOS” I even downloaded the new version of iOS on my phone but the messages still pops up the same
Double check the watchOS installed on the Apple Watch SE 2nd Generation. If watchOS 10 is installed on the Apple Watch then it will require an iPhone XS or newer with iOS version 17 installed on the iPhone. Your iPhone 8 Plus cannot be updated to iOS 17 and this can be the issue.

Hello Axel. I have the same issue. I’ve bought an Apple Watch SE 2nd Gen. to my wife for Christmas. She have a iPhone 8 Plus and according to the specifications of the product, this watch is compatible. Before to try to pair the watch, she updated the phone to the last iOS available, nevertheless, it won’t work. Can you help me with that? Thanks
