iPhone 14 PRO/iOSv17.1.2 having constant Liquid Detection warnings so unable to charge

Suddenly today, my iPhone (14 PRO/iOSv17.1.2) keeps getting the notification saying that liquid is detected in my lightning port. I am 100% certain that there is NO liquid in this port or on the charging connector. I am at my desk with no liquids anywhere near me. I think that this problem started happening shortly after I updated my iOS v to 17.1.2.

  • I've tried restarting.
  • I've tried wiping connectors down and blowing air into the port.
  • It works for a little while and then randomly the message pops up again.
  • I have been able to charge on a charging pad thus circumventing the need to use a cable, but this is very inconvenient.

In addition to this problem, the battery drains at a ridiculous rate. I have the sound and brightness both turned down to maybe 10% and have closed all applications... but it still drains within a few hours with little use.

Anyone else having these problems?!
