You can replace just the one, defective AirPod if it is out or warranty. I ended up doing that. It cost about $89 which was much cheaper than buying all new AirPods. And it has worked out well for me.

Mine too. I just took them to an Apple Store. They said I need to buy new ones at retail price. They didn’t have any water damage and I’ve never dropped them. The AirPods are a low quality product. The iPhones and MacBooks are great. I’m not going buy replacements just to have the defects happen again. I’d recommend purchasing another brand if none of the troubleshooting steps help fix your issue.
