Renaming a photo

Hello, why am i unable to RENAME the photo in iPhotos on my iPhone? I can only add a keyword or a title, but UNABLE to change the NAME of the file. for example, its like this: IMG_1104.HEIC, i want to make it: "clouds rain precip.heic". How can i do it?? I need some serious help on this one, thanks

It is not possible to change the name of an iMage file in Photos. The original image file will always be preserved as it is. To change the filename you have to save the image file outside of Photos, for example in Files, then rename it there and save it back to Photos, the delete the previous file from Photos.

Wow, thank you for the answer. I know there’s workarounds that are complicated time-consuming and just not necessary. I would think as smart as Apple engineers are that they would be able to add a button that would allow you to rename the original file. Why is it mandatory it’s stuck with the assigned file when taken by the iOS software is it a swift Issue cataloging? (I would like to understand the issue. )
