Renaming a photo

Hello, why am i unable to RENAME the photo in iPhotos on my iPhone? I can only add a keyword or a title, but UNABLE to change the NAME of the file. for example, its like this: IMG_1104.HEIC, i want to make it: "clouds rain precip.heic". How can i do it?? I need some serious help on this one, thanks

Why is it mandatory it’s stuck with the assigned file when taken by the iOS software is it a swift Issue cataloging? (I would like to understand the issue. )


Rule of thumb: if the question begins with 'Why?' only Apple can answer it with authority. Anyone else here would be guessing.

Wow, thank you for the answer. I know there’s workarounds that are complicated time-consuming and just not necessary. I would think as smart as Apple engineers are that they would be able to add a button that would allow you to rename the original file.
