Contacted Apple Support re:AirPods Pro making crackling noise. I was advise the replacement program ended October 2023 and I’d have to pay $250 to service them. Why would anyone pay that much when you could buy new ones for that price? Why would Apple end the program when the problems are still surfacing?

You do not have to service that AirPod. Nor do you have to buy a new set. You can replace just the one defective one if it is out of warranty. I did this when I encountered the same problem. Using the link below, I was able to replace just the one pod for about $89. Much cheaper and it worked out well for me.

Mine too. I just took them to an Apple Store. They said I need to buy new ones at retail price. They didn’t have any water damage and I’ve never dropped them. The AirPods are a low quality product. The iPhones and MacBooks are great. I’m not going buy replacements just to have the defects happen again. I’d recommend purchasing another brand if none of the troubleshooting steps help fix your issue.
