Can't clear all history in Safari

Over the past week I've been unable to clear all of my history in Safari. Each day has 1-5 random sites that remain after I do a total "clear history." Anyone have a similar problem and solution?

I have the same issue, however, I also have an iPhone and iPad. They are tied and share data across from my Mac, to iPad and iPhone. For some reason my mac is not the controlling device but my iPad is. I was able to clear the history by going to the iPad which had the same history listed, and cleared "all history". Personal opinion this is a dumb feature, and even if the different items share Safari, each should be able to clear the history across that one component or all components.

When I go into safari history the delete is grayed out. It lets me edit I select each item then it won’t go any further. Please help me figure this out.

Sounds like it's disabled via Screen Time. Talk with your parent or guardian, if applicable.

You can disable the sharing of Safari data across devices in Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Show All (under 'Apps Using iCloud' and toggling off 'Safari'.
