When you just swipe down and get the search field, there is no keyboard that appears. I can blindly type but there is no keyboard where it suppose to be. Just blank area. Sometimes it comes back. I thought its because of all the BG apps and no resources but even after I clearing all of it, the problem still exist.
Try and Force Restart your iPhone EXACTLY as shown below and see whether that resolves the issue:

Accessing Keyboard:
A. Tap the Text Box:
Tapping a text box, you would then get it to show.
B. App Issues:
So, what's the app? Not app apps have the option to use the keyboard.
No specific apps. Simply swiping down to search an app or something doesn't bring up the keyboard. Keyboard is there but it’s just a blank space.
