Alarm sound unable to change after update

I looked at previous posts, same issue this summer with some. I have the 17.1.2 update and my alarm is still on the default sound. I can change it till I am blue in the face but it will not play the sound I change it too. I have deleted alarms and reinstalled them and no change. What’s the fix for this. It happened on the update prior to 17.1.2. I updated to this one thinking it would fix it but it didn’t. It’s on an iPhone 13 Pro Max.
