with the upgrade to sonoma my contacts from macbook no longer sync to icloud. i have ran all available updates hoping it will be fixed, followed all apple support suggestions and still no sync :-(

I’m experiencing the same issue with contacts on my Mac. I spent 1 hour on the phone this evening with a level 2 text support person at Apple and her solution was to have me take my Mac back to the factory default and reinstall everything including the operating system ! The call then got dropped and she never even returned my call. Not the kind of service that I would expect from Apple. I hope that Apple is reading comments on this forum.

well i did have an answer. apple support told me to erase my harddrive and start over. i decided not to. still waiting for them to fix it :-( my iPad and iPhone does sync all services to iCloud without any issues. my MacBook syncs everything apart from contacts :-(

Agreed. Total BS. It's a bug.
I was hoping that the update to Sonoma 14.3 would fix the problem. It hasn't. Do the Mac IOS geeks read these posts? If so - please fix it. I'm unable to access my contacts on my iPhone - and its way too much work to manually transfer them from my Mac.If they don't read these posts, is there some way this issue could be communicated to them with a request to fix the bug?
I am having a nightmare with it. Contacts created on my laptop will not show up on my iPhone or in the cloud. Same if I create the contact on my phone, it will not show up elsewhere. Yes, I am signed into iCLOUD, yes it's the correct account and yes I have Internet signal.
However, if I create the contact in iCLOUD itself (Logging on through safari) it works on all devices.
Laptop is Sonomo 14.0, iPhone is 14 pro max with iOS 17.1.2
Same for me: I’ve just spent hours updating contacts on my MacBook Pro (Sonoma 14.2.1), wiped contacts on my iPhone, plugged it in directly to the MacBook, Hit ‘Replace Contacts’ then ’Sync’. Process gets to Step 2 and stops. Now I have zero Contacts on my iPhone.
nope. i keep hoping each update will fix it but it doesn’t. apple support told me it’s just me and my environment and they would know if it was a bug but since noone else is reporting it- it’s just my environment. does anyone know how to show apple this discussion?
Have you been able to find a fix yet? I've just discovered the same problem.
