Why do my alarms go off silently after ios17 update?

After updating to ios17 my alarms started going off either too quietly, starting off fine for about 10 seconds and then going silent, or are completely silent. When I pick up the phone and look at the screen, the alarm looks like it’s actively going off but there’s no sound or vibration. 14pro. This never happened before 17.
