Apple Mail Incoming White Type

Recently a number (but not all) of incoming mail messages come in white type so I cannot read them without selecting an area and copying and pasting in a text app. The messages show up fine on my iPhone and iPad, just certain messages on the Mac Apple Mail app. Any thoughts?

OS: Sonoma 14.1.1

Mail: 16.0

Mac Mail - message has no content A few times I've had a mail message, which I can clearly see on my iPhone using a non-Apple mail reading app, state "This message has no content" in Mac Mail and I can't see it. I can see another thread here that states one solution is to drag the mail to another mailbox and then back. This does not work for me, no matter how much I try. Please fix this?

Unread Message Count in Mail is Wrong for "Smart" Mailboxes The unread message count for some of my "Smart" Mailboxes in Apple Mail is incorrect. I see that Mail users have been reporting this problem for several years. As per this thread, I have tried deleting all of the "Envelope" files in ~/Library/Mail/V10/MailData, which did not fix the problem but did delete all of my Contacts groups and caused all of my emails be downloaded again, creating duplicates of everything and a huge mess. I have also tried Safe Mode, and I still had the problem in that mode.

If this doesn't work I'd run Disk 1st Aid in Restore mode, then reinstall the OS...

To find out if it's system wide or user specific, try this...

Open System Preferences>Users & Groups, unlock the lock, click on the little plus icon, make a new admin account, log out & into the new account.

Does it work in the new account?

is this from just one Mac User?

Consider that they may be using dark mode, and literally sent you a message with white type.

Looks great on their dark background! What could possibly go wrong?

As a Workaround or Test, hit Reply, if that doesn't show the text hit CMD+t to change the color or background.

Ah! That's probably it. But shouldn't Apple Mail know to compensate for that? Sounds like a bug to me. Thanks.
