APPLE WATCH SERIES 4 BATTERY DRAIN

So my wonderful Series 4 Apple watch - never had a day's problem with it started to drain the battery where it only last four hours a day instead of 14/16 hours a day. Love this watch. Use the ECG bit for my AF and feel lost without it. Took it to Apple in Dubai for the Genius Bar appointment where "the lady with the ipad" said it will cost me AED 1495 (About 300 British pounds) and it is not worth fixing so I might as well buy a new one!!! I didn't even get to the Genius Bar Tech person as she also said we are just going to send it away for 7 to 10 days. Might a well buy a new one!!!! You have to love the Apple throw away attitude. I am sure it is not suddenly a battery problem. Just done the update (of course) and this happens. Is it a ploy by Apple to get everyone to buy a new watch. I have actually just purchased a Series 9 for my husband (which I am having to borrow) but now I wish I had just not bothered as my faith in Apple is draining as quickly as the battery. So if anyone found a solution please do let me know.

I purchased the series 4 new in 2019 and like yours, it has worked really well (lots of swimming, bike rides, etc) but noticed since last update, it would become unresponsive every day or so - wouldn't accept pass code, open apps or anything unless placed on charger (for less than a minute??!). I checked battery but it says it's at 90%.

Different issue from yours admittedly but I did a complete unpairing, reset and re-pair with iPhone and it has behaved since (few days so far!). (I did this through watch app on iPhone). So you could try the same and see if it helps in the meantime? Unpair and erase your Apple Watch

Best of luck
