Apple Watch ultra 2. Call with AirPods.

I had a problem with my AirPods Pro and my Apple Watch Ultra 2 when answering a call. I was listening to music on my AirPods when I received a call, but the audio did not switch over. I had to use my watch to answer the call. I tried multiple times to switch the audio over and each time there was silence on the air pods when the call was still connected. Is this normal? Should I be able to use my AirPods for calls when I have via my watch?

I have experienced the same with my Apple Watch Ultra 2 and AirPods. I believe that when you attempted to switch the audio to the call, then you simply paused the music and therefore heard the silence. While listening to music, if I receive a phone call then I have always answered the call by answering on my Apple Watch. The call audio then was transferred to the AirPods.
