factory reset on macOS big sur 11.7.10

i have a mac book air i am trying to reset to factory setting and are unable to find where i can do that in settings.

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 11.7

There isn't one setting. You can do the internet restore as suggested. Once you have backed up your data, deactivated your iTunes account, and deactived file vault, and any T2 chip login, you can use internet restore to first format your hard drive, and then reinstall the OS that came with your Mac. Upon receiving the multi language selection screen, just hit command-Q, and it will ask if you want to shut down. It is then ready fo redistribution.
