The iPhone 6 doesn't support later than iOS 12.5.7

To use a later version of iOS you would need a newer iPhone.

The answer has already been given. If you have an iPhone 6 (like the OP does), iOS 12 is the end of the line.

No more updates for the iPhone 6.

If you want to run iOS 15, you need an iPhone 7

If you want to run iOS 16, you need an iPhone 8

If you want to run iOS 17, you need an iPhone XR or higher model

Your phone is too old to run anything later than iOS 12
