Voice over purgatory

Is your iPhone speaking each and every letter as you type it? It is beyond annoying. How do I turn this off?

You have went into settings and checked under accessibility to make sure VoiceOver is actually toggled off? Would seem like it would have to be on for it to do what you’re describing since otherwise it wouldn’t be doing so. Also double check VoiceOver Recognition settings to make sure nothing is toggled on there as well as all other VoiceOver options…just to be sure. Otherwise, you might want to contact Apple Support directly or take it to your local Apple Store (if you have one) to have it inspected.
