Alt-tab for Mac

This is not a traditional question, but more of a "wth" - as in Why the H... doesn't MacOS have an Alt-tab shortcut that works like on Windows?! Seriously, why?!

All the options mac offers in this area are clunkyer, slower, or mouse/touch-pad-dependent. You can't even use keys to toggle between open apps/windows in Mission control!

I've installed AltTab from alt-tab-macos.netlify.app and it works like a charm, but it's frustrating and embarrassing that Apple still, after so many years forces you to use third-party stuff for such a simple, basic, indispensable function.

In sum: Wth?!

Windows, Windows 10

And to continue in the same vein: WTH isn't there a shortcut comparable to Windows' Win+P? The amount of clicks and mouse-action you have to go through to toggle between monitors ('displays') on a Mac is ludicrous. Why?!

Why? Because they are different operating systems with different developers and designers who make similar things differently.

There are thousands of big and small differences between Windows and macOS. If you want macOS to operate exactly as Windows does, there'd be little point using macOS.

You'll find some differences are better for you personally, and some are not. Everybody is different, and has different priorities and preferences for how they like things to operate.

Often there are alternative methods or third-party utilities to add Windows-like functionality to a Mac - in the same way that there are utilities for Windows that add Mac-like functions.

Neither operating system works exactly how each individual user wants. You have to look at the bigger picture and choose the one that suits your preferences and priorities most often.
