Apple Pay fails with Update Billing Address error

I am trying to purchase an item using Apple Pay on Mac OS 14.1.1, it fails with Update Billing Address. It asks me to "Update Billing Address". I have checked the address - it is correct and matches the shipping address but if fails again and again.

How do I fix this?

Today Apple Pay ended - no fix apparently Trying to make a purchase as I have done 5000x and all I now get is, failed update billing address. But the message is truncated so you can't even read what it says on the Mac. This is the first time I have had Apple Pay completely fail with bad information. So I will use another card, and I guess my card now needs troubleshooting. This is the problem with a computer company offering a credit card. Worked great until she glitch decides it doesn't. Wasted 15 minutes trying to retype the same informaion, no errors. no address checks. Just fails at check out. Who do I call, Apple, Goldman? The CC company has no idea why the Mac won't allow purchases. When you offer customers finance options it's not fun for them to fail at the worst time with poor error messages and truncated lines that can't be acted on.

Apple Pay showing incorrect merchant on bank statement We are intermittently running into an issue where Apple Pay is not showing the statement descriptor we pass to it from our payment processor, which is causing confusion for our customers. Apple Pay seems to be randomly choosing related merchants or merchants close in proximity to show on the bank statement. Is there anything we can do to have Apple Pay always show the descriptor we pass to it from our payment processor?

Shipping address in Apple Pay When ordering and choosing Apple Pay there is an address for shipping that I cannot get rid of . It defaults to an incorrect address with every order and if not manually removed orders will go to that address. It displays as “recent shipping address” my account thru settings is updated

Turns out it was an issue with the vendor. Had to try different address formats until one worked.
