Personal Hotspot used without being turned on

I have never used Personal Hotspot from my iPhone or even turned it on. However, I see a low data usage of around 41MB by my Mac (4MB) and other devices (37MB). How is this possible?

I have been facing security issues because of hacking for a while and these are new devices so am concerned if this is normal or something that needs to be looked into. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.

If you tap on personal hotspot in settings, you can see there are many security settings to toggle, so if allows others to join is OFF, wi-fi password is there and strong, it means is OFF and nobody can connect to it. Being on an iPhone it can't be hacked because the way an iPhone is engineered it's not allowing any virus or spyware to make use of other apps. So your other devices didn't connect to the iPhone hotspot. If you want to be 120% sure that nobody can access your iPhone set a strong passcode
