why did iOS 17.1.1 delete half my music. I have a backup on my PC, but it continues to delete it shortly after I load it. VERY upset!

I go into itunes to try and reload it. It comes up, but then deletes it again.

iPhone 11, iOS 17

Hi Lawrence, I have the same issue but almost all of my music is gone. I have 157.53 GB available.

I'm freaking out because a lot of the music wasn't backed up :-(

If the music was purchased from the iTunes Store you can just download it again. If it was from other sources the only way to get it to your phone is to first copy it or rip it to iTunes on a computer, then sync it to your iPhone. So it should still be in iTunes on your computer, and you can just resync it.

If it was saved from Apple Music then you were just borrowing it, and you can keep it only as long as you subscribe to Apple Music.

Finally, if you used iTunes Match to back up your music to Apple’s servers again you can just download it again.
