Apple pay not working. Keeps saying hold near reader and still doesn’t work. Have rebooted my phone and still the same.

It needs to be no more than 2 inches away from the terminal reader.
Also, make sure the screen on the terminal is ready to accept the payment. The cashier or attendant can tell you when its ready.
Thank you but my apple pay not working near card reader. Ive been using it for months just past few days every store i go into it says hold near reader and still doesn’t work. I have to keep moving it away and still doesn’t work.

Ask the Cashier:
If you are looking to use Apple Pay at a store, then ask the cashier as the register. Sometimes, you need to hover it over card reader at the cash register.

Didn’t work. Its not the phone to the terminal. My apple pay has been working fine but past few days not working tried in different stores. Thank you for your support.
I'm having the same problem with my new iPhone 15 Pro. Just got it a few days ago and I've tried to use it at several stores and it gets stuck on the "Hold near reader" message
