IPad 17.1.1 Music Issues

SInce 17.1.1 on the IPad I am having issues in playing my music. I have 13,000 songs on the pad and when I select one it just goes into skipping mode flicking through volumes of songs before it finds one it will play. I have tried the normal, stuff and Ipad is up to date. Is this just another IOS 17 issue and I have to wait for 18 to fix it?

Fixed it. It’s Apple’s move to a “synch content” file ie all your music sits in that file not where it was before under “music”. I can only think that this was a “forced” move as such the music app could no longer find my songs as they had been moved ie the location. Only way around it was to delete all my music off the Ipad then sit and wait while 13000 songs all resynch. Doing this a new file path is set up and lo and behold music can find my songs again. Surely this is something that apple could have done in the background.

Please only do this if you have backed up your Ipad and have all your songs on your IMac or similar device. This is because you will be deleting all of the music off your IPad then replacing it via a Itunes/Finder synch. To delete songs off your IPad go to Settings - General - IPad Storage - Music. Then scroll down til you find the tab for “All Music” and then click the Edit link on the right hand side. Then hit the delete button, the IPad will warn you that this will delete and remove all the songs off your IPad, so only do this if you are sure you have a copy of everything on another device as once its gone its gone. Once deleted reconnect you IPad to the IMac and resynch all the music back on to your pad. As I said what this seems to do is to move you songs out of the IPad Music App and puts it in the new Sync Content Folder. My Sync Folder jumped by the same amount in GB as my music. Al I can think is that under 17.1.1 the file paths were changed so that the Music App is looking to the Sync Content Folder to find and play your songs. It worked for me hopefully if you have the same issue it will work for you too. But dont forget make sure you have a copy of all your songs on the IMAC or have back up the IPad just in case.
