Hi, I am planning to buy the Ipad 10th Generation. Has Apple indicated how long they will provide OS updates to this model? I anticipate owning it for a long time and don't want to find out in a few years they will no longer provide updates (which is what has happened to my current model).
If someone can provide a definitive answer on how long there will be updates, please reply.

I purchased an iPad 10 generation in January 2024. I have had nothing but problems from this iPad since. Screen freezes, I play some games that I have to login each time I try to play the game. Support provided me with a fix that didn’t last and suggested I get in touch with the provider. The only thing is the games and sites work on my iPhone 14+ and iPad Air 3. I have not been able to get a resolution for these problems. I wanted you to know this before purchasing an iPad 10 Generation. Good luck.

Apple does not pre-announce end-of-life for any of its devices. As such, nobody will be able to provide a definitive indication as to how long an iPad10 - or any model of iPad - will continue to receive system software updates.
Apple generally provide hardware and system software support for five to seven (occasionally more) years for most models of iPad.
If product longevity is important to you, you would always be best advised to purchase a current iPad model that was released within the last twelve months.
No, they haven't, but it won't be for a long time; as of now, Apple supports the sixth generation and newer iPad with 17, and may release occasional patches for older units.
