I had this annoying popup and called Apple about it. They sent me to a site that let me use the app called Malwarebytes that scanned and quarantined some adware. While installing and running Malwarebytes, I noticed that when the utility asked me for 'full disk access' and gave me a list of app that used it, there was one called "ExtendedSprinfldt". I locked it out and then ran the utility.

When I checked, the reference to ExtendedSpringfld' was gone in my list of apps wanting access.

I then rebooted my laptop and the popup seems now to be gone.

It may reappear but at least that worked once.

Good Luck
