In the latest update (17.1.1) I wasn’t getting any notifications for text messages… I then discovered that the doorbell alert sound was removed from available sounds under text message notifications and my sound was automatically set to “none”.
Why was this sound removed?
Is it possible to please bring it back, none of the other tones are loud enough and short enough for this alert.

(Foolishly, being new here, I thought someone from Apple monitored these posts, however I now realize my mistake).

I meant to include the feedback link in my first reply, but I was distracted.
There have been several sounds that were removed for notifications, but not for ringtones. One of them was restored in 17.1, probably from user feedback. It’s always possible that this was an oversight, and not an intentional change.
This is a user-to-user forum; no one here can answer a question that begins with “why” because no one has access to Apple’s feature decisions.
