2009 iMac woes .

Hi all, hope someone can help me out. My late 2009 iMac went bang a week ago and would do nothing. I replaced the power supply and now it starts with a chime and hdd is chattering away but screen stays black. Cant log in and can’t get to check as it doesn’t show on my MacBook when I try to connect the two. Have tried the cmd option p and r reset with four chimes but no joy. Anyone point me in a useful direction?

iMac 27″, OS X 10.11

I'm afraid that the iMac has gone on to meet its maker. It's considered obsolete by Apple and, as such, replacement parts would be very difficult to obtain. And the price of any replacement parts would be worth more than the iMac is worth.

You would be best served to get a new one or a refurbished one from Apple or OWC (MacSales.com) that would run newer and supported systems. If from Apple it'll have a new computer 1 year warranty and be eligible for AppleCare. From OWC it's 90 day.

Just some food for thought.
