My iPad mini does not drop the Wi-Fi connection but the connection to whatever web site I am on; my bank, a store, a google article. It happened with my last iPad and transferred to the current one. I have taken the iPad to the Apple Store twice and they have not been successful in correcting the error. A major pain and depressing that with all the people complaining of the same issue no one at Apple has addressed the issue.
Are you actively using the iPad when it loses wifi?
