Frozen velocity values

In music that I have composed in the piano roll in Garageband note velocity seems to be frozen. If I select a note and move the velocity slider to a new value it simply jumps back to the original value. I seem to have changed a parameter somewhere that locks in the value and I don't know where.

Same for me. You still can change note's velocity via track's automation > note velocity, but it's far less convenient, especially when you have notes overlapping.

On my side, this issue occurred since GarageBand has been upgraded to v10.4.9, I had never faced this before.

Sorry, this was a little garbled because I voice recorded the message. Here is what I see happening to velocity adjustments in Garageband 10.4.9 on my M1 iMac. (1) If you have a single region on a track you can adjust the velocity of a single note. (2) If you add a region to that track you cannot adjust the velocity of a single note in the traditional way. But you can adjust a note’s velocity by holding down the shift/option keys, although fixing on a specific velocity is tricky, but it will hold. (3) If you merge the first and second regions on a track you can adjust note velocity in the traditional way. (4) If you duplicate a second (or third or fourth) region on a single track to a new track, making it the only region on that track, you can adjust a note’s velocity in the traditional way. The recent upgrade of the iMac had not changed the note velocity problem that arose after the previous upgrade.
