stocks deleted from Apple stock app watchlist after adding a new stock through search

this morning i added a new stock to my watchlist after using search to locate the ticker. When I closed search the new ticker was added to the bottom of the list as expected and then the i witnessed in horror the other tickers in the watchlist disappear one by one until all tickers were deleted except for the ticker at the top of the list and the newly added ticker at the bottom.

quite the bug apple!

I deleted the app and reinstalled (backing up stock’s on iCloud) but it looks like the change persisted.

looks like I need to recreate the watchlist entirely.
