No tone when iPhone placed on MagSafe charger

When I place my iPhone 12 mini on my MagSafe charger, I get that tone letting you know it’s charging. But when I put my iPhone 15 Pro on it, I don’t get a tone. Both phones do show the animation to let you know it’s connected to the MagSafe charger.

Not the end of the world, but it’s such a cute satisfying sound, and it is nice to have that aural feedback that the phone is actually charging.

I’ve looked through the sound and haptics menu in settings on the iPhone 15 Pro, but don’t seem to be able to see any settings that will resolve this.

Interestingly, both phones do make the charging tone when plugging them into a wired charger.

Both phones are running the latest iOS, i.e. 17.1.1.
