Left Airpod Pro says it's still charging while out of the charger

Both of my Airpod pros are fully charged (for at least 30 mins) but when I take them out of the case the left pod does not connect. I have tried resetting at least a dozen times and nothing. I have also tried pairing them with my laptop and iPad with the exact same results. I guess my question is how do I tell if it's the pod or the charger and are there any other steps to take to try and reset them? Also, they are out of warranty.

Attached are the screenshots of the onscreen display. 1st image is when both pods are in my ears indicating that the left pod is still in the charging case. 2nd image is also when both Airpods are in my ears (weird). 3rd image is when they are in the charging case.
