Is there a way to enable haptics while iPhone is silenced?

I have ios 17.1.2 and I still can't get it to vibrate - I hate this phone!!!

I hate going to settings each time to toggle vibrate in silent mode on and off - just seems there should be a quick way to go back and forth - I use this often! Oh well - thanks for the tip of just turning volume all the way down.

There are 4 options in Settings > Sounds & Haptics > Haptics (just below the Change with Buttons) option. They are

Always Play

Play in Silent Mode

Don't Play in Silent Mode

Never Play

Navigate to Settings

in the Search bar type Vibr[ation] and 2 areas are presented:

in the Accessibility >>> Touch, turn the Vibration toggle ON

Settings >>> Sounds & Haptics, Ringtone and Alerts, turn Change with Buttons toggle ON, Haptics: Play in Silent Mode.

Worked for me.

It seems there are several things, of which the first three have been repeated several times, but the fourth is what finally fixed it for me.

1. Settings > Sounds & Haptics > Haptics > Play in silent mode
2. Settings > Sounds & Haptics > Ringtone/Text Tone > Haptics > make sure a haptic is chosen instead of none
3. Settings > Accessibility > Touch > make sure Vibration is toggled on
4. Settings > Phone > Silence Unknown Callers > turn this off

I was getting vibrations from my contacts, but not from other callers. With this setting on, all calls from numbers not in contacts skip all rings/haptics/notifications apart from being missed calls and voicemails.
