Ethernet connection

I have iPhone 15 Pro Mx- I also have a compatible USB-C to Ethernet cable. When the cable is connected, the Ethernet settings appear. However, no connection to the Internet is established. The green and yellow lights on both adaptors are also active. When I use the same setting on a non-iPhone device, all seem to be ok. Is there a clear instructions about using the iPhone for sharing the Internet via the Ethernet connectivity?
