English (UK) - Siri Voice 3 of Spoken Content deteled itself. How to keep the voice?

I have submitted feedback to Apple and cannot find an active discussion about this issue, so I wish to start it from here.

Please describe the issue:

The selected voices for Spoken Content do not match voice settings. For example, after selecting Siri Voice 3 of the UK as the voice, it would only work for a certain time, until it deleted itself and reset to default voices, such as Daniel. The unintended change of selected voice also affects other functions such as speaking in shortcuts, live speech, etc.

Lower Power mode has not been activated on the user’s behalf.

There is also no machine restart during the last change of voice.

Steps we can take to reproduce it:

1. open System Settings > Accessibility > Spoken Content

2. select English (UK) Siri Voice 3 as voice

3. revisit the setting after N hours

4. issue reproduced

Expected result:

speak in English (UK) Siri Voice 3

Actual result:

speak in Daniel

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 14.2

I have the same issue, found this while searching for solutions. I have the Spoken Content voice set to Siri 2 UK, and it inevitably reverts to Samantha US.

I tried to delete Samantha off my phone, and when I went to do that, I couldn’t because it said VoiceOver was using it. I went to VoiceOver settings, thinking I would change it there, but Jamie UK was selected there. So I don’t know where Samantha is coming in.

It’s so annoying to reset almost every time I want to use this feature, I hope they fix it soon.

This problem started after my phone updated to iOS 17.

I no longer have this issue. It might have been fixed between macOS 14.2 - 14.4.

I have the same issue on Mac Mini M1 - Siri (Voice 2) started to delete itself after the latest update to macos 14.1.1. Usually it happens over night ( I do not turn the Mac off)

Mine seems to be on a schedule. Normally I would reset it in the morning since I almost always use text to speech... Tonight I maybe set it at ~7:30 and ~9 it was reset.. At the same time last night as well.

I did find the new ios17.2 U.K. voice for Siri on iPad , this brings the total to 4,voices, on iPad it stayed at two for Siri command, but for Siri to read for us a news or document. You can go to Tom , Oliver, Siri, Alex and Fred.

It stayed the same on “hey Siri” , now not having to say “hey”.

maybe cause I have a second generation iPad mini.

My question - what voice was used for the Ironman 1st movie, Jarvis the suit?
