I recorded a video on Photo Booth but it will not play back.

I recorded a video for school demonstration of skills purposes. It will not play back and does not show time lapse, just 00:00. I have installed new software (macOS Sonoma) and did all the trouble shooting I can find and tried replaying the video but nothing helps. Installed the Elmedia Video Player but still will not play. If I click on the file it will prompt QuickTime Player and will say "the file is not compatible with QuickTime. Is there a way to play or retrieve the video?

Verify that your saved file is correctly written as a .mov file, and that the file size is sort-of what you expected (I just tested at 118 MB per 2:00 minutes for 1080×720px).

If needed, you can export again from Photo Booth, unless you closed the clip from the recent recordings at the bottom in the app.
