Google Drive audio doesn't play on iPhone

When I’m trying to play Google Drive MP3 audio using Safari on iPhone, audio won’t play.

WORKAROUND (works on iOS 17.2):

Press Download button
Cancel download in the popup
You can play the file now 👍

Safari won't play embedded wav files I was looking at a web page https://google-research.github.io/noise2music/ which has embedded wav files. When I try to play them on my iMac running 13.2 or my iPhone X running ios 16.1.2 using the Safari browser, clicking on play indicates that it's playing, but no sound comes out. However, when I go to the same web page using Firefox on my iMac it works as expected. Is there some setting that I need to make in order for this to work in Safari? It doesn't work on Firefox on my iPhone either.

IOS 16.1 safari html5 audio tag not working I have issues with the html5 audio tag on several sites using safari on IOS 16.1. For example on this page there is a simple code, but it isn't working for me: https://www.w3schools.com/html/tryit.asp?filename=tryhtml5_audio_all After a while the loading indicator stops and it shows -00:00 as playback time and nothing happens when I click on the play button.
