For me, it manifested after loading 17 and 17.1.1. Hoped there was a fix when 17.1.2 was issued but it only allows me to play slightly longer now before locking up and becoming useless, even after multiple restarts.

After all these years I'm a recent convert to Apple products and have heard from many over the years that "it all just works". Evidently not. My 7th Gen iPad, used mostly for music, is completely and frustratingly useless now for almost a month. Is this issue now even acknowledged by Apple and receiving any attention?

Mine too. (iPad 7th Gen). Once Music freezes, it won't respond to any screen touches (stop, play, last song, next song, or any other song for that matter!) I tried everything I could find online, but nothing worked. The only way to get it going again is to force-stop Music (hit the Home button twice and swipe Music off the screen) and open the app again, but soon after, it will happen again. So annoying!

Please fix ASAP.

Updated, as this site won't let me edit...

So annoying! Until this is resolved, I'll use my old-faithful iPod Touch. Yeah, I still have one and it still works! LOL! I use it my car all the time. :P

Good job Apple... You fixed this issue to some extent, without admitting to anything.. There are still issues. Apple is very different from when Steve Jobs was alive. I've had to replace several devices (e.g. iPads which I ended up repacing with Android tablets) over recent years, but my 'old' iPod Touch (~15 y.o.) still keeps chugging along...I can't update my iPod anymore, but 'Betsy' will always play my music as expected... 🙄🙄😞😞
