After Watch OS 10.1 update, blood oxygen icon and EKG icon is not showing up on my Apple Watch 6.

After Watch OS 10.1 update, my Apple Watch 6 unable to show Blood Oxygen and EKG icon on the watch face. And on the Motion face it won’t show the heart rate on the bottom of the watch. This update really messed up my watch!

Hey there HappyMissy,

While the EKG complication doesn't exist, the heart rate complication does for certain watch faces. We'd like to help by learning more about what's happening, along with ruling out some basics:

  1. You mentioned that those two complications aren't showing on the current watch face you're using, but not all watch faces have all complications available. This link has more details about which complications are available to use for each watch face: Apple Watch faces and their features Does the watch face you're currently using support both the Blood Oxygen and the Heart Rate complications?
  2. Regarding the Motion watch face not showing heart rate at the bottom, we do see that this watch face does support the Heart Rate complication. When was the last time you saw it there?
  3. If you have a compatible iPhone model, the latest version is iOS 17.1. You can verify this within Settings > General > About. In case you needed it, this link shows how to first back up, then update: Update your iPhone or iPad If you already have iOS 17.1 installed on your paired iPhone, sometimes unexpected behavior can be resolved with a restart: Restart your iPhone and Restart Apple Watch

Cheers!

I have the same problem. The complication is set for EKG, the space is blank with no icon but I can touch the space where the icon should be and it activates the EKG app as it should. It’s pretty evident that Watch OS 10.1 is screwed up. Why can’t apple admit they messed up and just fix the problem and release another update. My iPhone is iPhone 14 Pro Max with iOS 17.1

  1. Watch Faces: Nike Hybrid both are broken, Infograph only Blood Oxygen broken not ECG (I have them sitting at 3 and 9 on the central section), Meridian both are fine. Smart Stack: Also if I set the ECG and Blood Oxygen in the Smart Stack's bottom 3 complications, ECG does show there, but Blood Oxygen does not.
  2. I cannot speak for Motion; but all these Watch Faces were working perfectly fine prior to the 10.1 update. If the Complication was not supported, surely we should not be able to add it...
  3. iOS 17.1 is what I installed and coupled with removing all 3rd party apps from my Apple Watch, stopped my battery drain issues.

Hope this helps others… definitely an 10.1 bug.

I have the same problem with my Infograph Watch Face. I have Apple Watch 7 running Watch OS 10.1 with the IPhone 13 Pro Max running IOS 17.1. There is no icon on the watch face but the blood/Ox does work. The problem appeared immediately after updating to Watch 10.1. Like other users the space where the icon should appear is blank. As suggested, I restarted my watch without restarting my phone-no luck. Then I restarted my phone and then restarted my watch-still no luck. Hope you can find a fix!

i think your missing the whole-point

everyone is noting they have updated watch and the problem occurred directly after. I have as we all have is unpaired, re/paired. It does nothing.

resetting complications still does not show oxygen at top left nor pulse at bottom of watch.

oxygen is there if you hit invisible space icon.

This loss of detail does not change with new iOS iPhone up date.

I have even deleted and reinstalled.

its a software issue that is at Apples end not consumers end.

respectively Apple need bug fix update.
