I downloaded the AppleTV app on my Fire TV, but am receiving an error message "Software Update Required: To use AppleTV app, please install the latest Fire TV software version in Settings" There are no updates available in Settings - what next? I don't want to subscribe to Apple TV if I can't watch on my TV... all other apps (e.g. Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+) work...

Hi Mark_harry - We ended up replacing the TV and now have AppleTV. I realized later that the TV was not likely an Amazon TV, just a smartTV… so the issue might have been solved by upgrading our Amazon Firestick, rather than the TV. Hope that helps

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. In this case, it sounds like a later version may be needed for your Fire TV. If one is not available, it may be best to reach out to the manufacturer to determine if one has been released for your model. Did you find a solution? I just subscribed and am getting this error, but when I check for updates on my fire TV, it says it's already up to date and no updates are available.
I have the same issue with fire tv. It says update but the tv says updates are current.
'My Fire TV' runs on my Samsung. I do not know what I can do here. Have just subscribed to AppleTV, so am a bit frustrated. Fire OS 5.2.9.5. Will have to cancel this subscription.
