Scam for Apple support

I googled the number to call Apple to get a refund request for in-app purchases. I called the first number that came up. The guy had me download any desk and got remote access to my phone to view the charges. He then said he needed the transaction numbers for them and to go to my bank app. Which I did. I started to tell him he shouldn’t need those numbers. He then had me go to a transfer page on my bank app. He said your going to do a transfer. I said what? You refund the money I don’t transfer anything from anywhere. He didn’t ask me what the charges were if they were fraud or what. He could see the charges on my account and didn’t add them up or anything. Which total 800$. I didn’t transfer any money and immediately hung up, deleted my information and called Apple. Anyone else had this happen?

Scammers are ubiquitous. The difference is most users would not have given a scammer access to their computer/accounts like you did. If it was me I would change all my passwords, notify my financial institutions and credit card providers. I would even erase my computer and reinstall my operating system.

If you look at the bottom of this page, you see several ways to contact Apple. Google is not one of them.

Google gets money from advertisers and scammers to show their number first and you actually called one of those? And gave him access to your device?

As suggested, wipe everything and report possible fraud to your financial institution. Hopefully you did not hae sensitive info stored on it.
