Apple Homekit; Cannot edit or add scenes

Dear Forum,

I cannot add to, or edit, any scenes, whether that be via iphone of MacBook Pro. Simply says 'cannot add..' or '...similar name..'. Names i am adding dont, nor have ever existed as scenes as i have tried random letters and the same message appears.

I only have 40 odd scenes.

Anyone have any advice?

As I when through the usual procedure, the following pop-up window appeared: "(My file name) has missing or offline titles, effects, generators, or media. If you continue, these items will be replaced with missing-media graphics." I fully understand the message's meaning, but my file has no missing components. No "missing media" boxes appear on my timeline, and when moving forward to share the file, it saves and plays as expected with no missing media slides. The only cause I can think of is that I changed the names of a few plugins the day before, but none related to my project. I can ignore the alert, I guess, but like many of you, I'm a bit anal about my apps running perfectly, and not knowing what's going on bugs me. Has anyone else out there experienced the same? Any way of cleaning up the situation? Thanks much!

Answer to HomeKit Scenes Missing/Uneditible by Alan Rowe1 on May 8, 2022 Because the conversation is closed... His question: I couldn't find a forum for HomeKit or Siri (kind of odd and a little disconcerting) so I am posting here hoping I can find some help. I had some devices disappear from my Home app and the scenes (not listed as a favorite) they were in are left empty. The problem is that the non-favorite scenes are still in the app but I cannot edit them because there are no devices in them which means that I cannot go to any room to edit the scene. I would really like to say "Hey Siri Kitchen Lights Out' but I can't because the scene can't be edited or replaced. Anyone know how I can edit a non-favorite scene that is empty? Answer: Download the App "Controller for Homekit". In there you can see empty scenes and edit or delete them.

homekit missing scenes The default 'Goodnight' HomeKit scene is recently missing from some of my devices, yet not on others. My iPhone and the Hubs in my home are missing the scene and as a result I can't use Siri to invoke it. Using the Controller app, I can see the scene and execute it from there but not make any modifications save. Inside the Home app I can also see it as a scene that is available to be added. All of my accessories are still in it, but when I attempt to save it, I get a message that reads "Could not edit scene "Good Night"". I've added some photos to show. To troubleshoot, I have rebooted and powered off the affected devices and brought them back online one at at time. I've looked for similarly names shortcuts within the Shortcut app for executions that are of the same name, but found none. For additional background, in my home I have one Hue hub and one Homebridge plugin for my Dyson fan. I'm a bit of a loss for how to proceed. Thanks! (Why isn't there a forum topic for HomeKit?)

Solved it... ATV was logged out, as it seems to be a lot of the time these days.
