Perhaps this is a Fault Device?:

How did that Happen? Just curious. If it was on its own, then you might have a corroding LogicBoard --that would likely mean this might bis a faulty device. If found to be the case, Apple would work on it at their own cost, and you wouldn't pay anything for for fix (but that is Apple's call)..

Finding the Official Cost:

Take this in for a Genius Bar Appointment at your local Apple Store. Bring a proof pf purchase with you. There, it would be diagnosed, and you'd be provided with a cost.

I had to send my Mac in for service 11 times during the days of COVID. I’ve had to bring my Macs in oh so many times for service. None of which I had to have a proof of purchase. Why? Because I purchased AppleCare. So, go here, and see if it is covered under any warranty:Find Information About your Warranty or AppleCare Plan - Apple Support
