No text notification sound since 17.0.3

I am not getting any sound when receiving a text notifications. I bought the iPhone 15 Pro Max and it updated itself to the latest firmware updated. I have checked everything and ALL of my settings are correct. I’ve had an iPhone for years so know what settings should be on.

This does not happen all the time though, even tried a hard reboot, but it’s still sporadic. It even played my call ring tone as a text alert by itself. This has to be a software issue.

Please start by checking your notification settings to be sure that Messages are set up the way you would expect: Use notifications on your iPhone or iPad.

If you are only noticing that these notifications are missing when you are listening with headphones, you’ll also want to be sure that headphone notifications are enabled: Headphone notifications on your iPhone, iPod touch, or Apple Watch.

I also have no sound notifications with 17.0.3 - none in imessage, none in the zohomail app, and none in the protonmail app. I also have all the settings correct. After over an hour on the phone with Apple yesterday, much of which time was on screen share, and after doing a reset, I was told they didn't know what might be causing it and that someone would get back to me.
