Help: always allow Safari during Downtime

i have tried everything but I can’t figure out a way to allow for all websites in safari to work during downtime. I love the downtime feature for everything else except I do still browse sites throughout the night. It’s wildly frustrating that we need to “ignore time limit” for Every. Single. Individual URL.

does anyone know how to fix this? Or was Apple just really sloppy on this one?

usually the UX is great but this is not up to Apple standards

Hello ayersak,

There isn't a way to "fix" it, because that is how it's designed to work. When you're using the Downtime function in Screen Time, the intended purpose of that is to eliminate all distractions and only allow phone calls. If you've placed the device in Downtime mode and want to use Safari, you'll need to select the prompt to ignore the limit.

Use Screen Time on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

If you'd like to see the Downtime function changed so it allows phone calls and Safari usage without needing confirmation/approval, you can submit that suggestion to Apple through their feedback site: Product Feedback

Cheers!
