Can’t access extended edition of downloaded movie

I purchased 'Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets' from the iTunes store, and downloaded it. However, the downloaded file is the standard version of the move (2hr41min), and to access the extended version (2hr54min), I have to go into the 'iTunes extras' and select it.

This is a problem as I cannot see a way to download the extended version as I don't think you can download iTunes extras.

iTunes streaming is not very fast, so I will not be able to watch the extended version properly if I don't download it.

Is there any way I can download the extended version?

iPhone 12 mini, iOS 17

Hey Egotistical maniac,

Based on information on the If you can't view your iTunes Extras page,

"You can watch iTunes Extras in the Apple TV app on an iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, and Apple TV. Or in iTunes for Windows on a PC" but it doesn't mention being able to download those iTunes Extras except in the specific instance that the item was purchased before a specific date. This content would need to be streamed from your Apple TV app directly.

Per the 'If you bought the movie before July 10, 2014' section of that same page:

"If you bought a movie with iTunes Extras before July 10, 2014, you might also be able to download a version of the original iTunes Extras (if available) from the iTunes Store on a Mac or PC with iTunes.

When you download iTunes Extras, they appear as a separate item in your Library."

Hope that is helpful. If you'd like to potentially see the ability to download iTunes Extras for offline viewing int he future, leave Product Feedback to that effect here.

Take care.
