How can I choose items to be restored?
I have backed up my entire hard drive to time machine, but incase of a issue; when I restore, how do I choose which files I want to recover through time machine?

Enter Time Machine thru the TM menu in the menubar
Once in Time Machine navigate to the files you want to restore just as if you were in the finder, then go back in time to when the version you want is known to exist, select it and click on the Restore button.

"incase of a issue" is vague though. If you need a specific answer you need to ask a specific question.
