How do I get my old messages from iCloud to download to my new phone (iPhone 15 pro)? This has never been an issue in the past. Normally after the backup all messages immediately download and I can view as far back as my iCloud history is. Currently I can only view a few months of messages.

I’m experiencing the same problem, also on an iPhone 15 Pro. Tried disabling/reenabling iMessage under Settings>iCloud>Messages>”Sync this Phone” multiple times over the past few weeks with no luck. Also tried doing a manual iCloud backup to trigger a full sync/download per Apple support’s recommendation but that didn’t help either.
Messages on my Mac (which is synced with the same iCloud account) go back to at least 2016, but almost all conversations on my iPhone 15 Pro are missing anything sent before February of this year.
This is also the first time I’ve had this issue with a new iPhone. Really hoping there’s a fix out there somewhere, it’s such a bummer.
