How do I turn off the sound while I’m typing in a text without disabling the microphone button?

How to remove microphone from SMS / Text / iMessage window When I close my wallet on my phone after sending a text message it often accidentally activates the microphone and starts recording what is being said (I think for dictation - the the recording 'wave' is red)). I do not want this to happen. From similar questions, I think it can be deactivated, by disabling Siri which I do not want to do. It seems like you tapped the microphone icon to turn voice in put on.
