Can I use a BOOST↑Charge Pro Flex USB-A to USB-C cable to connect my iPhone 15 with my 2014 Mac Pro?

The product I'm looking at is the " Belkin BOOST↑Charge Pro Flex USB-A to USB-C Cable (1m) "

I've been trying to use another USB A to C cable to connect my new iPhone to my old af Mac Pro, but my phone never showed up in my Finder. It's really frustrating.... Does this mean I need a new Macbook? Or do I just need a proper cable?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 11.7

USB-C to Lightning Adapter - Apple

connected to a USB-A to Lightning cable may let you link the iPhone to older USB-A compatible Macs.
